Fragment of white shell bead belt with black, outlined shell bead square, and black shell bead '' shaped design. Acquire from Joseph Bastien, property of Maurice Bastien Sarenhes, his father and Grand Chief of the Huron-Wendat in 1912, redrawn by David Ross McCord in 1895, differently redrawn by Samuel Douglas Smith Huyghue in 1846 as part of the archive of the Huron-Wendat at Lorette, present Wendake, identified as "A pledge of peace with eight nations or villages.
